Working in partnership with IATA (International Air Transport Association) and under the patronage of European Commissioner Karmenu Vella, The Sustainable Cabin Forum 2019 has been conceived by Hi Fly and Mirpuri Foundation executives in order to develop and share best practices for stakeholders in the field of single-use plastic and cabin waste.
On this European Maritime Day, participating delegates will hear from Hi Fly and Mirpuri Foundation President Paulo Mirpuri and other leading authorities on aircraft sustainability, as well as joining panel discussions on the challenge of removing single-use plastic items from aircraft catering and reducing cabin waste more generally.
The Sustainable Cabin Forum will include networking opportunities and the chance to discuss the issues with experts and panelists, as well as the chance to discuss the current regulatory framework with European Commissioner for the Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu Vella.
Paulo Mirpuri explains: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the Mirpuri Foundation and for Hi Fly to share what we have learned on sustainability in our own efforts and also to learn from our industry friends and partners.

The Sustainable Cabin Forum venue, the Penha Longa Resort is set against the lush landscape of Sintra’s rolling green hills and the hotel is the only one within the natural park.
