Port Opens Grant Cycle for Airport Community Ecology Fund

The Airport Community Ecology (ACE) Fund’s Small Matching Grants Program offers community members of SeaTac, Burien, and Des Moines the chance to apply for Port of Seattle funding to improve the local environment. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, youth or athletic associations, chambers of commerce, and community groups.

The ACE Fund offers grants to organizations to improve the natural environment through projects and programs that improve livability in near-airport communities.

Applications are open and available for download. The deadline is Monday, March 25 at noon.

The Port will host three information sessions in SeaTac, Burien, and Des Moines along with an online webinar for those interested in learning more about the program and application process, including:

  • Des Moines Library, 6 – 7:30 p.m., January 30
  • Valley View Library, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Week of Feb 11 – exact date to be confirmed
  • Burien Library, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Week of Feb 25 – exact date to be confirmed
  • Online webinar, 12 – 1 p.m., Week of March 4 – exact date to be confirmed

Since the Port of Seattle Commission authorized the program in November 2016 twenty-one projects received a share of almost $170,000 in matching grants. The ACE Fund Small Matching Grants Program will distribute a total of $550,000 to non-profit organizations in SeaTac, Burien, and Des Moines to support communities near the airport over the coming years.
