On the occasion of AIA’s “Fly for a child” initiative, Ioanna Papadopoulou, Director, Communications & Marketing, stressed:

“Contribution and support to society is at the heart of our business strategy, through actions and initiatives, which we constantly renew and upgrade. This Christmas, we are very happy to have designed a very substantial action for the welfare of children in need, in cooperation with the Association “Together for Children”, and our exceptional airline Partner, the Lufthansa Group, which comprises Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and SWISS. In today’s society, with families having to face extremely difficult situations, children are often the defenseless victims. Athens International Airport actively supports the significant work of the Association “Together for Children” and we hope that through our “Fly for a child” programme, we will reach many children seeking for our help and support”.

Konstantinos Tzevelekos, General Sales Manager for Greece and Cyprus of the Lufthansa Group said:

"Corporate responsibility, the social commitment to meet our responsibilities towards the environment and society, is an integral part of the Lufthansa Group's corporate strategy. It is a great pleasure for us to take part in this initiative in cooperation with Athens International Airport, in order to enhance the great work done by the Association "Together for Children". It is our responsibility to create a world where children will be able to "fly to their future" with joy and optimism. This Christmas, let us put a smile on every child's face".

Mrs. Alexandra Martinou, on behalf of Together for Children (Mazi gia to Paidi), mentioned:

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Athens International Airport and the Lufthansa Group, specifically, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and SWISS, who will be the “co-pilots” in our efforts during the festive season.

Our objective is the happiness of the children we support and our goal is to create the right conditions in order for them to have a better future. Through our programs we embrace and support more than 30,000 children in Greece and through the services of our Helpline 115 25 and our Counseling Center we stand by every family facing difficulty. I am very happy that our objectives and our destination are common.”
