This collaboration is part of the FedEx Cares “Delivering for Good” initiative. The company uses its expertise in shipping and logistics to connect organizations, communities and individuals with the resources they need through charitable shipping and cash donations.
“This devastating storm left communities and lives in ruins and our thoughts are with the people affected,” said David J. Bronczek, president and chief operating officer of FedEx Corp. “We believe it’s our responsibility to provide hope and help in times of crisis and we are proud to use our network to deliver aid to those hardest hit by the hurricane.”
FedEx has a long history of working with nonprofit and government entities to support communities and economies during times of crisis. FedEx committed $3 million in cash and transportation to support relief efforts during last year’s devastating hurricane season as well as the earthquake in Mexico. The company also used its global network to move more than 12.8 million pounds of relief supplies and other cargo on 102 flights for customers, employees and nonprofits to Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
