Airbus Global University Partner Programme annual meeting to focus on future requirements of aeronautics sector

Toulouse - From April 19th to 21st, nearly 30 representatives from 20 partner universities around the world are gathering with some 70 Airbus employees at the Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse for the 5th Annual Meeting of the Airbus Global University Partner Programme (AGUPP).

Tom Enders, Airbus Chief Executive Officer and Thierry Baril, Airbus Chief HR Officer  welcomed participants to AGUPP which is a strategic Airbus initiative connecting a global network of universities and engineering schools to develop high-tech talents of the future. Activities include the development of strategic competences (technical and soft skills), the development of training courses, with a specific focus on Innovation, and support for universities to encourage diversity among engineering students and graduates.

This year’s event is focusing on how universities and industry can work together to define and develop competencies that meet the rapidly changing needs of the aerospace industry.

The meeting is also an opportunity to formalise new university partnerships with
the Technical University of Munich (Germany), the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), l’Ecole Centrale de Nantes (France) and the University of Alabama (US).
