Operational savings through Smarter Fuel Efficiency and Smarter Mobility solutions.

Thai Airways International (THAI) has signed a letter of intent with Airbus for the development of Airbus Smarter Fuel Efficiency and Smarter Mobility solutions. This commitment underscores THAI’s requirement to have a fully integrated solution capable of handling ‘big data’ from all aircraft.

The Smarter Fuel Efficiency will enhance the airline’s fuel saving performance and reduce workload through advanced gathering and monitoring of THAI’s operational fleet data, while the Smarter Mobility offering will be used to support line maintenance and engineering activities by facilitating the access of troubleshooting information and technical documentation on different mobile devices and from different locations.

In 2013 Airbus Smarter Fleet Solutions was launched to provide airlines and operators with advanced IT services for maintenance, engineering and flight operations. These services enhance operational efficiencies, help airlines to manage their aircraft more effectively and improve customer service by smarter use of ‘big-data’.

Captain Montree Jumrieng, Executive Vice President of Thai Airways International Technical Department said: “The Smarter Fleet Solutions will add value to our business by managing ‘big-data’, advanced analytics and asset optimization needed in today’s commercial aircraft operations.” He adds: “Smarter Fleet will especially serve the objective of efficiently monitoring fuel consumption and to maximize the utilization and reliability of our fleet.”

Didier Lux, SVP Customer Services said: “We are pleased that Thai Airways International has selected our Smarter Fuel Efficiency solution, which will provide enhanced fuel savings, an improved return on fuel initiatives and ease decision making to improve operational efficiencies. Furthermore, through our Smarter Mobility offer THAI will benefit from new powerful business and mission capabilities.”
